The voice you can trust always sounds like love.
Waking Up Alone is
part memoir, part map:
a vulnerable, fiercely honest exploration of what it means to awaken as a Black woman born into a nation rooted in complex trauma; a nation in which limiting stories about race, gender, and spiritual awakening capture the collective consciousness.
Hi, I’m Nicole.
I’ve been you. Afraid. Confused. Caught in self-doubt. Trying hard to get it right. Walking in circles, intending to make a straight line. Twisting myself into unnatural shapes, hoping for acceptance, belonging, and comfort.
When we find ourselves here, it’s easy to seek something outside ourselves to show us the way. It’s easy to miss the fact that what we need most is not another person’s truth but our own. We need the deep self-acceptance that comes from finding and following the inner compass.
Each of us must discover our own voice. We must find and follow the inner teacher. We must listen to the still, small voice of our hearts; and in my experience, this voice always feels like love. This voice is a knowing you can trust, and to find it, you must turn your attention in toward the quiet of yourself.
On this site you will find meditations and courses that I hope will support you in your journey towards noticing yourself Home.
SO grateful to be waking up alone, together.
